Occupational Therapy
Mathew Schibani
Mat graduated from the University of South Australia with a Master of Occupational Therapy in 2015. Mathew is currently working both in the community and at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital as an Occupational Therapist.
He has specialised in paediatric rehabilitation, providing both inpatient and outpatient therapy, with experience working with children with a range of neurological conditions, acquired illnesses and/or injuries. Prior to returning to a community-based role, Mat was the Team Leader and Senior OT in the Child and Adolescent Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service, supporting children to return to the community after a traumatic brain injury.
Mathew has a keen interest in upper limb therapy, management of complex physical disability and maximising independence in one's daily routine.
Mat offers targeted, goal directed and evidence-based therapy in a variety of settings including homes, schools, childcare centres, kindergartens and other community locations. Mat can also assist with basic equipment prescription.
Physiotherapy
Brett Herrmann
Brett has more than 10 years of experience in paediatric physiotherapy. Since graduating from the University of South Australia in 2011 with a Bachelors of Physiotherapy, he has worked at the Women's and Children's Hospital. He currently works in both Paediatric Rehabilitation and also in Orthopaedics; where he has spent a number of years acting as Head of Unit. Brett is now keen to share his experience further through the community with Tailored Therapy,
Brett has a special interest in working with children with physical disabilities ranging from cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury and other neurological disorders to limb difference (e.g. amputation), major burns and other orthopaedic/musculoskeletal issues. He has skills in serial casting and splinting.
Brett offers land-based therapy in client's homes, schools, childcare centres, kindergartens, parks and playgrounds. Brett also offers aquatic therapy (hydrotherapy) services and can assist with basic equipment prescription.
Brett is keen to promote physical activity and to help clients reach their physical goals.
